Enbutch

Enbutch is a gender identity in which a Non-binary individual has a butch-like gender expression, or someone who identifies as both non-binary and Butch/Butchgender. Enbutch is a subset of butchgender.

This label can be used for anyone who is non-binary with a butch gender expression regardless of their sexuality. Enbutch can also be used as an orientationgender or sapphicgender identity, if one uses the term "butch" as in being a butch sapphic person. A similar term to this would be Enbutch Lesbian, where one feels their identity is influenced by being a butch lesbian.

Someone who is enbutch may dress in soft butch fashion, as they tend to have an androgynous gender expression with a masculine-leaning presentation. Some enbutches choose to medically transition to further match their gender and butch identity; Typically, this looks like HRT and/or top surgery, though enbutches can be transmac or transfem so this is not always the case.

Non-binary butches may feel more comfortable using this label due a complex relationship between their gender and sexuality. While “Butch” is a great umbrella term, “Enbutch” is exclusive for Non-binary butches or those who claim both a Non-binary and Butch Identity
