Macarshric is a neogender identity in which one's gender is the sum of macabre and horror themes, which generally means the distress or disturbed feelings that can arise from death and/or violence. Themes that fall under macarshric include, but are not limited to:

  • Uncomfortable , distressing , unsettling or disturbed feelings
  • The aspects & qualities of death &/or violence
  • General , existential , &/or unspeakable horror
  • Having the qualities of a grim or ghastly atmosphere
  • Being gruesome or gorey in nature
  • The inevitability of something

It also may or may not have different tones or "volumes" to it, which could shift or be static:

  • Loud: In-your-face, bold, echoing, overwhelming
  • Steady: Existent, can be avoided, ignorable
  • Soft: Subtle, easy to miss, after-effect
  • Silent: Appears when you least expect it, hard to spot, aftertaste, hidden, secretive

Macarshric is not a xenogender. It may be used as an identity on its own, or combined with other genders; it may also be an umbrella term.

Terms to describe macarshric identities include:

  • MACRiN/MACRIN: Macarshric-in-nature
  • Macric: A macarshric gender alignment (masculine, feminine, etc.)
