Demi-presqu’vu
Demi-presqu’vu (pronounced press-koo-voo), also known as demi-presque and demigender-presque, is a non-binary gender that is defined as being partially independent from male, female, void, neutral, agender or anything in between. It is characterised by autonomy and inner conviction regarding a sense of gender.
it is similar to maverique, outherine and quoigender, but differentiates, as one feels a fluidflux connection to femininity, masculinity, androgyny and demigenders related to femininity, masculinity and androgyny without having a base gender. It can be considered a gender identity under the aporagender umbrella, but differentiates from it and its subtypes, as it is more of a tip-of-the-tongue gendered feeling, where one is hovering right beside the answer but can’t quite land on it.
Demi-presqu’vu is also separate from neurogenders, as it is not linked to one’s neurotype, mental disorder(s), or neurological condition(s).
Etymology
Presqu’vu is a French-derived term that means “almost seen.” In other words, it translates to:
- a feeling of almost knowing or understanding
- the experience of being on the edge of recognition
- a tip-of-the-tongue feeling
- close, but just out of reach
- gendered “hide and seek”
- one feels like the answer is right there but is inaccessible
