Maverique

Maverique (pronounced MAV-uh-REEK) is an atrinary identity and is a term to describe those whose gender exists outside of masculinity, femininity, male, woman, neutral, and anything in between while still having a strong gendered feeling. It exists on its own plane of gender, separate from all others. It is a gender characterized by autonomy (autonine) and inner conviction regarding a sense of self that is entirely independent.

Maverique can be viewed as an aporine gender to some individuals, but not to all.

Genders that share a similar nature are aporagender, ilyagender and aliagender.

History

In 2014, Vesper H. (queerascat) coined the term "maverique" to describe their own gender. The word comes from "maverick" and the French suffix "-ique," and can be used as a noun ("some maveriques") or an adjective ("some maverique people"). The flag was made soon after.

The maverique symbol was made by Pride-Flags on March 20^th, 2021. On April 4^th, i-love-my-trans-body made two alternative flags. On August 4^th, octopodesinmybutt made their own symbol for maverique.

An alternate flag was made by Itz henka gacha on the 25^th of June 2022.

Another alternate flag was made by Rosboy37 on or before 7^th of July 2022.
