Puellamagic[1] is a gender that is related to or feels like being a magical girl in the Puella Magi/Madoka Magica universe. This gender can feel feminine, cute, powerful and magical, with a dark or surreal undertone.

Its masculine counterpart is Puerimagic. It's gender neutral counterpart is Neutrumagic.

History

Puellamagic and it's definition was coined on March 19, 2026 by Fandom user oumoter (he/him).

Etymology

The name Puellamagic was taken directly from the name of the anime it is inspired by, Puella Magi. The name is derived from Latin, essentially translating to 'girl magician'. Combined with the suffix -ic in an overlapping blend.

Flag

The black stripe represents despair and the dark truth of magical girls. The purple stripe represents magic and mystery. The magenta stripe represents feminine power. The light pink stripe represents cuteness. The white stripe represents purity. The concentric diamond symbol represents the cyclic nature of magical girls, and the bow ties in the magical girl motif.
