Perceived gender can refer to either what gender that person is perceived to identify as or the sex the person is perceived to been assigned at birth.
Legal Context
Perceived gender identity means the gender with which a person is perceived to identify, based on that person’s appearance, behavior, expression, other gender related characteristics, or the sex assigned to the individual at birth or identified in documents.[1]
Passing
If your perceived gender is the same as your gender identity, then you are said to pass as that gender.
