NDHgender

NDHgender, also known as NGHgender, is a xenogender and musicagender identity related to the rock or metal subgenre Neue Deutsche Härte/New German Hardness. This may be related to an NDH-style band like Rammstein or Eisbrecher, a song within the genre, or it may be related to the genre itself.

One may feel as if this gender is "buzzing through their veins", or rather energetic; the gender is also linked to themes of rebellion, defensiveness, and shock factor. This gender is not masculine in nature, however, it may feel masculine, as the genre is dominated by men and often sung in deeper, masculine voices.

It is a xenogender, genregender, and audiogender. It is also a subtype of metalaesic, musicagender, and musigender. It may occasionally be considered a songic gender as well.

Common Definitions

NDHgender or NGHgender is a xenogender, genregender and audiogender based off of the metal subgenre Neue Deutsche Härte (New German Hardness). It is a subset of metalgender and musicagender, and may be considered a musigender as part of the musicorum system.

Flag

The NDHgender flag was coined on February 27th, 2026, by Fandom user 2ofSpadesssss. The colors and representation of the flag were chosen with genre themes in mind:

  • Red: metalgender flag adjacent; sensitive topics; anger
  • Blue: stability (despite not being a necessarily well-known genre); masculinity; left-wing
  • White: politics; feeling of (emotional) coldness; wish for peace
  • Black: rebellion; fighting back; shock/shock factor
  • Purple: justice; nobility; power[2]
