Wergender is a term for those that are men that are also binary, or people that are very close to being a binary man. This term is not exclusive to cisgender individuals.

The equivalent for binary women is wifgender.

Etymology

The term comes from the Middle English word werman, which means the same thing as man does now.[1]

History

The term was coined by Tumblr user acro-pluris on August 21, 2018. However, there was no flag included in the coining post.[1] A flag was made by a user going by Weniviere on November 14th, 2020. An alternate flag was coined by Fandom user XxBagelxX on October 19, 2025.
