Usage

Copy the following code and fill it in accordingly.

What to put in the parameters

This is a list of what else can be entered for each parameter aside from the values given in the examples.

• description: A short description of the image, preferably with some context.
• source: Where did the image come from? If taken from another site, please use {{Cite_web}} to provide a complete citation or add a plainlink [url Site Name].
• origin: The creator of the image, if this differs from where the file came from. If it came from a print source, use {{Cite_print}}.
• license: This is required! Enter one of the parameters exactly as listed and it will display the appropriate image license template.
  • CC-BY-SA for Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike Unported license (CC-BY-SA) images (used by Wikipedia and Fandom) ;
  • CC-BY-NC for Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial Unported license (CC-BY-NC) images (sometimes used by flickr) ;
  • CC-BY-NC-ND for Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivatives Unported license (CC-BY-NC-ND) images;
  • GFDL for GNU Free Documentation License images;
  • PD for Public Domain images;
  • PD-self for Public Domain images uploaded by their creator (use this if you made the image you're uploading and you release it to the public domain)
  • fairuse to indicate that an image is being used in a way that counts as fair use under current US copyright law. If the image you are uploading does not fit into the other categories listed here, it is recommended to at least use this option.
• cats: Categories for the image followed by a | (e.g. Flags|Logos|User profile images|). See Category:Images for the category names.
