Quoiphoria, also known as quoisonance, or quoisonancy, is a term to describe one who is unsure of ones experience of gender/sex sonance, e.g., gender euphoria, dysphoria, incongruence, dissonance and/or dysmorphia, or who feels that one does not want to/does not know how best to describe ones experience of sonance.
Quoiphoric may be used as:[1]
- a term to describe one who feels that sonance terms don’t apply to them and/or do not identify oneself as experiencing sonance/-phoric terms
- a term to describe one whose relationship with phorias/sonancies is complicated/confusing and therefore does not want to define it/is not able to define it/does not feel one can describe it sufficiently
- an alternative to “questioning”, in order to communicate exhaustion or frustration with searching for a better sonance term for oneself and/or not knowing where one fits on the sonances spectrum.
