Protochaos
Protochaos or Khaosgender is a xenogender identity under the agender umbrella, synonymous with the feeling of genderlessness.
Common Definitions
People that identify as Protochaos feel as if their gender is fully absent, and can be likened to a void, black hole, the emptiness of space, darkness, or other similar ideas of nothing. A major part of the identity is the idea of a gender that’s nonexistence/void so extremely nothing that it is incomprehensible.
Protochaos has a connection to space, but specifically the empty, vast, and dark parts of it, such as the gaps between the stars and planets.
Name Meaning:
The name stems from the Greek prefix proto-, meaning first, and the idea of Chaos. In this context, chaos doesn’t refer to the modern connotation of disorganized pandemonium, rather to the original empty void of nothing (Khaos or Chaos) that was the beginning of the world according to ancient Greek cosmogony. Chaos is also occasionally interpreted as the first primordial god of nothingness or the abyss.
