Metalligender is a xenogender identity in which one's gender is related/connected to metal. This refers to the material, not the music genre (see metalligender).
One may strongly identify with metal or want to incorporate it into their identity; this can be any type(s) or metal, which may or may not be specified by the user. It was coined with neurodivergent people in mind, but can be used by anyone.
History
The original metalligender flag was designed by an anoymous Tumblr user via the blog Beyond-Mogai-Pride-Flags on September 3, 2018.[1] The alternate flag was created on July 9, 2021, by LGBTQIA+ Wiki user WitheredWolves.[3]
