Icebergender is a metaphor for when one’s gender is like an iceberg, that extrapersonally it appears smaller and simple above the surface, but it’s obscure and bigger when getting to know more.
The term comes from the idiom ‘tip of the iceberg’, which basically means the small part of a much larger situation or problem that remains hidden. Or “the iceberg illusion”.
History
The term was coined by Beyond-MOGAI-Pride-Flags on 19 November 2023.[1]
