Hauntmusicwanderic is an aesthetigender and kenochord identity in which one's gender is related to the feeling of wandering through a strange long-forgotten place that evokes a sense of "hauntology" (some place that seems to have been relevant in the past, but you can still feel the "ghosts" of that place throughout the environment), while soft, eerie, hauntological-sounding music plays.

Hauntological music evokes a feeling of "a sense of loss", deep nostalgia, decaying memories, lost futures that never came to be and the feeling that you're being haunted by the ghostly remnants of "the past"; almost as if the song's welcoming you into the memory of such old forgotten past. This gender is more focused on more softer and haunting hauntological-esque music, rather than the other more peppy, chaotic and sharp sounding music in the genre.

The music playing (for this gender) doesn't necessarily have to be in the "hauntology" music genre. It can just sound "haunting, confusingly nostalgic, eerily comforting/welcoming or foggy" in general.

The general aesthetic hauntology music gives off (the strange feeling of loss, etc.) can apply to the "strange long-forgotten place that evokes the sense of hauntology as well. The "hauntological place" described in this gender's definition is also geared more towards "made-up fictional places / liminal spaces / backrooms-like stuff / abandoned steampunk areas", rather than your average run of the mill building. The aesthetic of this gender can be described as...

  • Walking through an abandoned steampunk workshop, old but unchanged through time. The interior is bathed in a soft blue light, which is shining through a window. You run your hand along one of the wooden tables, feeling the notches and grooves. In the corner, you find a dusty aluminum phonograph with fading black paint; after tinkering with it for a while, you finally get it to start working. An old grainy tune echoes throughout the shop, the sound slightly decayed but filled with nostalgia for something long lost.
  • Down at the bottom of the ocean, the world is covered in vibrant blues. You continue walking down the tunnel, staring out past the reinforced glass. Your curiosity is what got you here. You've been walking for ages, endless stretches of tunnel before and behind you. The distant echoes of a phonograph sounds, it feels hauntingly familiar, compelling you to keep going. You look up, a halo of pale sunlight shining through the endless ocean, the large opalescent skeleton of a whale being the only thing to obscure some of it from your view.

It's an aesthetigender related to the feeling of wandering through a long-forgotten place that evokes the sense of "hauntology" while *soft eerie* hauntological (sounding) music plays. Also, the music playing through the place doesn't have to actually be in the "hauntology" music genre. I've heard some non-hauntological music that I think fits the same "haunting, confusingly nostalgic, eerily comforting/welcoming or foggy" vibe.
