Flashgender is a programmegender and technogender identity relating or connected to Macromedia Flash, usually in reference to the software before its acquisition by Adobe and rebranding to Adobe Animate. It may feel related to old-internet animations and flash games. It may also feel outdated and discontinued, but does not have to.[1]

History

Flashgender and its flags were coined by FANDOM user Kittehpuppy on February 4th, 2025.[1]

The main flag's colors represent the program's logo, specifically the Macromedia Flash 8 logo, whereas the alternate flags' colors are in reference to the "ugly Flash gradient" that comes default with the software.[1]
