Fictigender is a gender identity in which one's gender is connected to or based off of a work of fiction, fictional character(s), a fictional species, or an object, setting, or concept from a work of fiction. It also includes genders that come from a work of fiction. It can be used as an umbrella term or as a standalone term for when one's gender is affected by several fictional concepts or by fiction in general.

As an umbrella term, fictigender includes certain kingenders. One may feel like genders in the real world do not apply one's self, because one identifies as a fictional character or species.[3] However, fictigenders are not inherently kingenders.
