Not to be confused with genderfae, faegender (idingender), or faeigender.

Faegender is a xenogender identity in which one's gender is connected to fae/faery/fairies (including alternate spellings) in some way. One may identify with faeries in some manner, perhaps feeling mystical, or their gender having a deep connection to them.

Faegender may also be used as an umbrella term for all genders related to fae (and/or fairies, etc.); for a comprehensive list of faegender identities, please see Category:Fairy-Related Genders.

Common Definitions

A gender that relates to fae/faery/fairies (or other spellings of these beings!) in some way. One who is faegender may have been fae in a past life or identifies with faeries in some manner, perhaps feeling mystical or having a deep connection to gender.

This identity is NOT appropriation as faeries/fae are different spellings of a being from the same root words. They are NOT exclusive to one's culture, and in this usage, they are used in their most basic form: beings who are enchanted/magical, mystical, and deeply connected with nature.
