A eunuch is a man who has been castrated, or otherwise, a man who lacks testes. Oftentimes it refers to a cisgender man, but it is also used to described intersex individuals that are CTM[3] as well as transgender men due to the term also describing men born without male reproductive organs.[4]

History

Throughout history, Eunuchs were often regarded as a 'third gender,'[5][6][7] with castration serving many functions, often due to religion or careers.[8] Eunuchs have been becoming increasingly recognized as a gender identity, popularized by the WPATH[9] and affirmed by various genderqueer communities.[10]
