Deadthing is a xenogender identity in which one's gender is connected to the dead/being dead and being a thing.[2]
Alternatively or additionally, one's gender may feel as if it is dead, but living, a thing walking among everyone else.[1]

History
Deadthing was originally coined by Tumblr user freakthing on August 7, 2022, as was the original flag.[1] The alternate flag and main definition (which best fits the -thing suffix used) were coined by Tumblr user fleshyrats-wuit on October 22, 2022.[2]
