The Celestial Gender System (CGS for short) is a MOGAI gender system,[1] in which all the genders are connected to or have a "soft, celestial energy." Some of the genders are related to planets, while others are related to stars, the void, etc. None of the terms are aligned to masculinity or femininity, but can be linked to them. There are two versions of the CGS, the original made in 2017 and the 'updated' version that came only a year later.

It should be noted that this is not to be confused with the Galactian Alignment System, which is another space-centric or space based MOGAI gender system[2].

Genders

The original CGS (2017)

Genders in this system include:

  • Juparian
  • Lunettian
  • Starfluid
  • Mercurian
  • Saturnian
  • Neptunian
  • Venusarian (a nonbinary gender that is linked to the void and fluctuates with softer celestial feminine energy).
  • Celestarian (a gender that is a combination of juparian, lunettian, and mercurian. Someone who is celestarian can be fluid between all three/feel different amounts of each at different times).
  • Juparettian (someone who is both and/or fluid between juparian and lunettian. (later changed to Ceresian))
  • Merjuparian (someone who is both and/or fluid between juparian and mercurian. (later changed to Erisian))

The expanded CGS (2018)

Genders in this system include:

  • Lunettian
  • Juparian
  • Mercurian
  • Neptunian
  • Saturnian
  • Venusian (someone who is both and/or fluid between juparian and lunettian. The colors are based off of the planet Venus).
  • Asteroidian (a gender that is lunettian, mercurian, juparian and plutoian. The colors are based off of meteors as they enter the atmosphere. (Think of this as demi-celestarian). This can also be called Asterian[3]).
  • Erisian: (a gender that is lunettian, mercurian and plutoian. The colors are based off of the dwarf planet Eris. (Think of this as demi-merlunettian or demi-venusian).
  • Marsean: (a gender that is juparian, mercurian and plutoian. The colors are based off of the planet Mars. (Think of this as demi-merjuparian or demi-neptunian).
  • Terraean: (a gender that is juparian, lunettian and plutoian. The colors are based off of the planet Earth. The name is based off of Terra, which is the Latin word for Earth (also spelled Terre or Terrae). (Think of this as demi-juparettian or demi-saturnian.) (Pronounced terr-ae-un) This is also called Terrean or Terran).
  • Ouranian: (a gender that is both plutoian and mercurian. The colors are based off of the planet Uranus. (Think of this as demi-mercurian.) The name is based off of the god Ouranos, which is what Uranus’s name is also based from (Pronounced ore-ayn-ian)).
  • Sonnean: (a gender that is both juparian and plutoian. The colors are based off of the sun’s ‘type’ in the star spectrum. (The sun is a main sequence yellow dwarf star.) (Think of this as demi-juparian)).
  • Ceresian: (a gender that is both plutoian and lunettian. The colors are based off of the dwarf planet Ceres. (Think of this as demi-lunettian).
  • Plutoian: (a gender that is filled with the energy of the void. Someone who is Plutoian can also be “void” of gender itself, or uncertain of their celestial energy. It’s also for those who have no celestial energy, or whose celestial energy is like that of a black hole or a gap, the absence of all, but still having celestial energy. The colors are based off of the dwarf planet Pluto. This is also called Plutian. (Think of this one as agender, gendervoid, neutral, nullgender or quoigender.
    • Plutoian + some other type of energy can count as a form of demigender)).
  • Kuiperian (a gender that is fluid between multiple soft celestial energies. The colors are based off of nebulae. The name is based off of the Kuiper Belt, which has thousands of unique and different asteroids, like all the unique genders one can experience).
  • Celestarian (a gender that is a combination of juparian, lunettian, and mercurian. The colors are based off of the colors stars twinkle at night).

History

The CGS originated in 2017 and was created by Tumblr user Juparian in fall of 2017. The majority of the terms, alongside their flags, were also created by Juparian.

Later, Juparian requested for blogs that had reblogged the CGS to remove it from their blogs. The reason for that is still unknown. However, an expanded version of the gender system was created by another Tumblr user, System-Mogai in fall of 2018. Not only were flags updated, but some definitions were given new terms and even entirely new terms were created.

The Original CGS (2017)

The original version of the CGS- created by Tumblr user Juparian- was composed of ten terms, all of which had accompanying flags.

Chart

A chart for this version of the CGS was created by System-Mogai (the creator of the new CGS) to show the terms' links to masculinity, femininity, and neutrality, as well as their relations to each other.

The Expanded CGS (2018)

The updated or expanded version of the CGS- created by Tumblr user System-Mogai- was composed of sixteen terms, all of which have accompanying flags. This version of the CGS was created around a year after the original was made, after the creator of the original (Juparian) requested that all of the reblogs of the terms were deleted by the blogs that had pushed the terms.

Charts

Two charts for this version of the system was also created by System-Mogai to show the terms relations to each other and masculinity, femininity, and neutrality. The first of the two charts listed showed the terms in the chart placed next to primarily invented gender symbols- though some of the terms were shown with traditional symbols. The second of the pair was presented with more traditional gender representation symbols.
