Varumgender flag

Varumgender or avarumgender is a gender identity in which one uses many terms to describe their gender, but may not identify as them, due to uncertainty, anxiety, or neurodivergency.[1][2] Varumgender may be used as an alternative term for those whose gender identities are static and do not overwhelm each other. [2] Varumgender is under the nonbinary, multigender and genderqueer umbrellas.

Varumgender traits may include:

  • A persons perception of gender fluctuates as new gendered feelings, labels, or terms are identified.
  • Labels apply and feel correct for a period of time, before a person is overcome with uncertainty, and the need to find a more suiting label.
  • Identification process can fluctuate between changing labels completely, to identifying as multiple genders at once, all due to ones uncertainty.
  • Simultaneously experienced genders merge into one gendered feeling, losing and gaining qualities, granting a static like perception and uncertainty towards once applicable labels.
  • The need to specify all applicable gendered feelings, yet feeling stress and uncertainty no matter the results.
  • Identifying as small points within a genders definition, and feeling uncertainty with identifying as one, due to the rest of the spectrums qualities.
  • Uncertainty or repulse towards new labels due to ones neurodivergency, even if one's gender fits all the criteria of a term.
