Transfian is an adjective used to describe someone who is both transgender and fiaspec, transitioning towards womanhood and femininity. It is similar to transfeminine, even sometimes being simultaneous, but transfemininity itself is not inherently fiaspec.

Not all transfeminine individuals are necessarily women, even if the vast majority may be. Transfian specifically describes a female gender/sex transition, while transfeminine broadly describes anyone whose femininity is transgender. This term is often used to refer to trans women generally with more specification, allowing "transfeminine" to be used with a less of a gendered connotation.

Transfemininity earned the reputation for being synonymous with trans womanhood because it is commonly shortened to 'transfem,' the 'fem' prefix giving people the impression that it stood for female. The same is true transmasculinity.

Transfian is also the adjective form of trans woman; this identity is an effort to remove the gendered nuance from the term transfemininity, spreading differentiation between femininity and being a female. It's also important to note that FIN and FIA specifically refer to gender identity, while feminine can refer to either gender presentation and/or gender identity.
