Trans-exclusionary radical feminists, aka TERFs, are a group of radical feminists that are characteristically known as excluding transgender women from their idea of feminism, as they believe trans women aren't real women, as well as using other radical and usually bigoted ideologies.
Generally, their arguments include things such as trans women being in bathrooms is dangerous, you're only a real woman if you menstruate, and other generally transphobic and horrific ideologies.
One notable TERF is J.K. Rowling, author of the Harry Potter book series. She has been known to make numerous remarks, usually on Twitter, that imply or straight out state that trans women aren't real women. One notable example of these statements is her replying to a tweet that used the term "people who menstruate" by saying that the article should have said "women", despite the fact that not all women menstruate, and not all people who menstruate are women.
