Archaine, also known as archaid, is a gender identity in which one's femininity and experience with it is integral to their queerness and identity, and vice versa; both shape and complete each other. It may refer to presentation, gender, or any other form of femininity, and one does not need to consider themself 'fully' feminine to use it.

The term may be used as one that is notable for its self love, unapologetic presentation/gender/etc., and personal definitions/expression of what "femininity" is to them. It is expressly feminist, and against forced gender norms.[1]

Common Definitions

Etymology

The term "archaine" comes from the word "archer", or "archery", as the term draws inspiration from the Greek goddess Artemis and her bow and arrow, similarly to how tridaine draws inspiration from the Greek god Poseidon and his trident.

History

Both archaine flags, along with the symbol, were coined by Tumblr user Kenochoric on November 22, 2022.[1]
