Packing is the process of placing padding over or around the genitalia in order to create the appearance, when clothed, that a penis is present. Packing is often done as part of a person's gender expression, and some may desire bottom surgery in order to create a biological neophallus.

Packing can be done using any available material, but prosthetics specially designed for the process can be bought. Some penile packing devices may also include mechanisms designed to allow the wearer to urinate while standing.

Buying a packer

If wish to pack though you can make a D.I.Y one you can also buy some. Before you but one though it is important to know the types and different materials of packers.

Types of materials for packers-

  • Thermoplastic Rubber (TPR) thermoplastic is the first of two materials packers that are anatomical (mimicking actual biology) are made from. Its meant to describe soft squishy plastics. It is generally softer than silicone ones. It is very oftenly based on fossils though can also be based on corn, sugar, cane, and soybeans. Its pliable, soft and even recyclable. TPR is typically cheaper than silicone. However with this cheaper price comes a con. These types of packers are commonly made with trace amounts of mineral oil. Due to this it is a common experience for people to get rashes after wearing them for long periods of time. It is recommended that you wear a packing pouch or packing underwear to help prevent this.
  • Silicone this is the other material that is used for anatomical packers. There are a ton of similar things with these types and thermoplastic rubber ones. One of the similarities includes them both being pliable, soft and recyclable. Though one of the differences is silicone is made from quartz and sand. It's much less porous than TPR and can withstand much higher temperatures than TPR.
  • A third option those less common is cloth and foam packers. These can be helpful if you have a TPR and silicone packers. One good place to find them would be small shops on etsy. Transguysupply recommends Bean Peens for a realistic one. For one with more flair to it they recommend Faboutique GB. [1]

Types of packers-

**Note** Due to wiki guidelines some forms could not be listed please refer to here for more information.

  • Soft packers- These types are used solely for creating a bulge in your pants.
  • STP's or Stand to Pee- These types are how they sound their packers used for peeing in urinals/peeing while standing up. Many people say for this type to practice using it.[2]

How to wear a packer

If you have obtained one then you'll have to know how to put it on.

  • To keep the bulge from showing and having it be more discreet you'll want it to be below the pelvic bone. If you want it visible it'll be above the pelvic bone.
  • Packing up means shifting to your hip flexors. If you ever get asked by a tailor whether you want dressing left or dressing right there referring to this. Dressing right means the right hip flexors while dressing left means left hip flexors.
  • The closer to the inner things the less visible. [3]

How to clean a packer

  • TPR packers- Wipe it down with soap and water. Air dry if possible if not pat dry with towel. For comfort it's recommended that you put it in a ziplock bag, add cornstarch and shake it. This will keep it dry longer and get rid of some of the stickiness on it. **Do not** boil it or put it in the washer this will turn it to mush.
  • Silicone- Unlike TPRs these can be put in the dishwasher as long as its on the top rack and can be boiled. Like TPRs these can also be cleaned with soap and water. Its also a good idea to add to cornstarch to these after washing to prevent moisture buildup. [4]
