Ammasculacy is a set of behaviours, presentations and roles which are/were culturally associated with being a girl and/or possessing female sex characteristics, though it has multiple definitions:

  • Girl-like masculinity
  • Girl-like femininity
  • Feminine/female masculinity
  • Masculine femininity
  • A youthful gender aspect associated with adolescent females
  • Masculinity found in women

Ammasculacy is the embodiment of masculine traits in females, particularly those considered untypical of women or femininity.

On its own, ammasculacy is not necessarily the same as masculinity and neither is it the same as androgyny. Ammasculacy is a more feminine approach to masculinity.

The male version of femininity is known as effeminacy.
