!gender, pronounced "not-gender"[1], is a gender identity with 2 definitions;

  1. An agender identity that feels as though it is a boolean set to "false", as opposed to other non-agender identities that would be, in this context, booleans set to "true". This could be considered a technogender, as it is within the concepts of programming.[1]
  2. A textgender relating to the "!" (exclamation mark) symbol[1]. It may also feel surprised, shocked, and/or alarmed.

History

Both definitions of !gender and its first definition flags were coined by FANDOM user Kittehpuppy on February 4th, 2025.[1]

The flag's colors are both related to code and agenderedness, and the symbol wrapping squiggly-brackets around an exclamation point is in reference to the programming aspect of the gender.[1]
