Dengender is a xenogender identity in which one feels as if their gender(s) fit in a den. Dengender is similar to burrowgender.

The size of the den is usually dependent on the size of the animal one feels made the den. For example, a bear den may be considered a large den, whereas a rabbit den would be considered small; therefore, one may choose to use a label such as beardengender or rabbitdengender.[1]

The meaning of the den's size could be several different things, which one may identify with one or more of:

  1. The larger the animal den, the larger range of genders one feels.
  2. The larger the den, the more space is felt between each gender. Some genders may feel closer to one another than others.
  3. The size of the den shows how held-in or how close to escaping the genders are. Genders with large dens may feel they are only barely grasping on the strings of their gender, and as if the gender may escape at any time, whereas a small den feels as though the genders will not escape.
