Catgender
Catgender is a xenogender in which one feels a gendered connection to cats and/or other felines. One may feel a strong gendered connection to cats or felines, or may incorporate them into one's gender to better understand their identity.
One's catgender identity may be connected to alterhumanity, but is not specific to alterhumans.[2] In this case, one may feel like a cat themselves and/or share traits, which is related to their catgender identity.
For example, one's gender may feel lazy unless provoked, and sometimes playful and soft. (This is just one example; not all catgender people feel this way.) Another example is that one's gender may feel like they do when they are interacting with cats.

History & Flags
The term catgender was used as early as 2014.
The original catgender flag was created by DeviantArt user PN-TME on December 6, 2019.[7]
The pink, purple, and blue flag with a purple cat face silhouette on it was designed by Twitter user hueningafton as late as June 18, 2020. Though it is not approved by the creator, it is commonly believed that on this flag, the cat emblem represents unity and solidarity with other xenogender individuals. The darker pink stripe at the top stands for feminine-leaning catgender individuals, and the light pink represents the feline/catlike feeling that comes with being catgender. The purple stripe in the middle is for unaligned catgender individuals. The light blue stripe represents gender nonconformity, and gender non-conforming catgender individuals. The darker blue stripe at the bottom represents masculine-leaning catgender individuals.[2]
The inclusive catgender flag and its alternate were created by Twitter user EggHeggley on October 10, 2020, in response to the previous flag creator's exclusionary beliefs and false claims of being the original coiner of the term.[8]
An alternate inclusive catgender flag and its corresponding alternate were designed by Fandom user Snotdrips on January 12, 2021.[9]
