Drag artists are individuals who partake in the art form known as drag. Drag is often defined as an individual dressing up and performing, often in a highly stylized way that exaggerates gender (or rather the gender expressions often associated with the binary gender identities). Drag is often associated with crossdressing, but this depends on the individual, and isn't always the case. Some of the more popular subsets of drag artistry include drag queens, who usually perform with an exaggerated presentation of femininity, and drag kings, who usually perform with an exaggerated presentation of masculinity.

The term drag artist can be used as an umbrella term to describe anybody who partakes in drag. It may also be used as its own label. For example, if someone's drag exaggerates a combination of masculinity and femininity, or something else entirely, they may choose to use the term drag artist instead. One might also use this label simply because they feel more connected or comfortable with it. It all depends on the individual.

Drag plays a role in queer culture and history, but anyone, regardless of orientation or gender identity, can be a drag artist.
