Female to Female

Female to Female (FtF) is a term for trans women that consider themselves as transitioning to female, as they have been female individuals, but not in the way that society usually defines female. It is used as an alternative to Male to Female/MTF to reject the idea that the person was ever male.

It may also refer to AFAB transfeminine individuals.

The counterpart for trans men is Male to Male.

History

The term was coined by Tumblr blog beyond-mogai-pride-flags on November 10, 2017, on the same day that Male to Male was coined. The flag was included in the coining post.

An alternate flag was created by the same blog on December 27, 2023.
