Tranvestigênere, travestigénero or travestigender is a Brazilian third gender that unifies the concepts of transsexual, transgender and transvestite. Although unlike travesti, travestigênere includes transmasculine people and individuals.

History

The term was created by Indianara Siqueira and Erika Hilton on December 15, 2015. With the intention of generating a cooperative trans identity and decolonizing the Brazilian concept of gender.[1]

The current definition of travestigênere and the travestigênere pride flag were created by Tumblr user arquivo-pluris on October 15, 2020.[2] The last three stripes of the travestigênere pride flag are a reference to the trans pride flag.
