Medusagender is a xenogender identity in which one's gender can be compared to the Gorgon Medusa. It also encompasses gorgons in general, snakes, monsters and being misunderstood. It can feel rather guarded, sorrowful and sometimes vengeful with a stoney exterior to it that is sensitive and kind deep down. It was made with trauma survivors in mind, especially those who have experienced sexual trauma as Medusa is a very prominent cultural icon for survivors. It can also be tied to general sex repulsion, those disgusted by being seen as a sexual object and a form of asexuality that has informed your gender.

Medusagender can be adapted by anybody and is not exclusively for those who are AFAB. Individuals who are sex-repulsed, caedsexual, apothisexual or asexual or those who generally feel a level of disgust towards sexual acts can use it.

It may also be related to Caedogender or Traumatagender.
